Welcome to Dawn Hines State Farm Agency. I am proud to be an African-American State Farm agent in the historic Chatham area of Chicago. I am currently in my sixteenth year of agency. One thing that makes this opportunity so outstanding is that I routinely get the opportunity to have a great time meeting people while educating my community on insurance needs that will help them to recover from the risks of everyday life.
About Me:
I am a lifelong resident of the south side of Chicago. I am an avid skater. Being a single mother of one adult son has given me my drive to work hard . At this point in life my sister and I are privileged to care for our aging parents . With that being said, we understand the need for compassion with our senior residents . I have the unique opportunity to offer auto insurance, home insurance, life and health insurance in the same zip code and community that I was raised in. I have been a member of this community for 50 years this year. I am rooted here and the concerns here are my concerns. . This is where I went to grade school and know most of the families or prior families that once lived in these homes. I am a board member of the Chesterfield Community Council. We bring resources for homeowners and/or those who would like to become homeowners. I enthusiastically support historically black colleges. As a proud graduate of Howard University , I know all to well the support needed by our HBCUs. Prior to coming to State Farm in 2005, I was a Warden with the Illinois Department of Corrections and did special assignments with Cook County Jail. That always calls for very interesting conversation with customers.
As a small business owner I understand my obligation to give back. Along with our corporate office we participate in coat drives, food drives and many free seminars to educate our community and others invited on the need for insurance. As an agency, we have sponsored purse projects for women in shelters along with our hoodie projects where we donate hoodies to men and women in shelters in and around Chicago and the south suburbs. Annually at the close of summer, we give major donations of school supplies to different communities.
We enjoy talking to other small business owners about the benefit of having business insurance. We also provide renters insurance, condo unit owners insurance and insurance for landlords that rent out properties. (Rental Dwellings).
Our office is centrally located in the heart of the city at 87th street adjacent to the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago. We provide a very personable and comfortable environment that lends itself to regular conversation about every day insurance needs, plans and life goals.
